Continuing a Legacy of Leadership & Community Commitment

With a rich heritage of public service, I am David White, a city council candidate. My name is synonymous with leadership and commitment to the community. My great-grandfather, Ben White, was a distinguished member of the Austin City Council, with Ben White Boulevard standing as a testament to his contributions. My father, Ben White, Jr., further established the family's political roots by serving as the mayor of College Station and Garden Ridge, TX, leaving a legacy of dedication and service.

Family Life

Family is at the heart of my life. My partner of 15 years Darlene Lively, and I am a proud father to Kyle Olsen White and Kalynn Nicole Smith, as well as a doting grandfather to James and Kelly Ann Smith. I am blessed that my sister, brother-in-law and nephew all live in College Station. Beyond my family, my professional life is equally impactful.

I Hear You

I believe in making fiscal decisions that guide our city's development, listening to the community's voice, and advocating for planned, sustainable growth. Quality of life, safety, and the development of both new and older neighborhoods are at the forefront of my agenda. Given my son's profession as a paramedic, I must ensure adequate funding for the first responders, such as police, firefighters, and EMT personnel, to match the growth of College Station. Moreover, attracting visitors and sporting events through initiatives that leverage the Hotel Occupancy Tax is central to my strategy for economic vitality, both in the near future and as a long-term goal.
